High Court Order Hits The Brakes On Bulldozers In Haryana's Nuh
Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata asked officials concerned to stop the bulldozer action following the high court ruling.
New Delhi: Following a Punjab and Haryana High Court judgment, the demolition work that had been planned for Nuh in Haryana in the wake of local conflicts has been put on hold.
In response to the high court decision, Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata requested that the appropriate authorities halt their bulldozing activities. Six people were killed in communal violence in Haryana last week, along with significant property loss and unrest in Nuh and Gurugram. The court has now taken up the case on its own initiative.
In the previous four days of demolition, more than 350 shantytowns and 50 cement buildings were destroyed.
Politicians claimed that the demolition campaign singled out Muslims for discrimination, which led to criticism. Additionally, a large number of people whose homes were demolished said they received no prior notification.
However, the local government had claimed that no one was being singled out for attack and that measures were being taken against encroachment and unlawful construction.
"The demolition campaign against unauthorized building is under progress and will go on.No one is being singled out for action. The establishment of peace is our goal, Mr. Khadgata stated yesterday.
Asaduddin Owaisi, a Hyderabad MP and the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has been among those who have criticized the Manohar Lal Khattar administration of Haryana over the demolition drive.
"Confidence building" refers to the idea that Muslim communities' homes, businesses, and shanties should be demolished without due process in order to punish them all at once. The @mlkhattar government has usurped the authority of the courts of law, according to him. Confidence is being given to those who share the BJP/Sangh's ideologies.
The district administration came under fire for denying entry to Nuhdistrict to a CPI delegation of four people.
The police and CPI leaders' dispute was captured on camera. This is the situation the country is in right now, CPI MP Binoy Viswam stated. The Police are not permitting even us, which is the current truth. This means that even the right to move freely is restricted by this provision.Fascists, goons, and hooligans had free reign, he claimed.
The areas touched by the community violence are still tense. In order to prevent any flare-ups, paramilitary personnel are present in several of these regions and there is a curfew in place.
This morning, the curfew was loosened for four hours, and ATMs were also open throughout that time.
The local Internet blackout is still in effect.
According to Nuh police, over 150 persons have been arrested in connection with the incidents, and 56 cases have been filed.
