Myanmar's junta sends stern message to Pakistan and China for 'unfit' JF-17 fighter jets delivery
The Burmese Air Force was forced to ground the planes as malfunctions and structural flaws were detected.
Myanmar angry with Pakistan over 'unfit' fighter jets supplied by Islamabad
The Myanmar junta dictatorship has issued a harsh warning to Islamabad for selling "faulty" multi-role fighter fighters, which is yet another humiliation for Pakistan. Narinjara News, a Myanmar-based publication, said that Pakistan had signed a contract to produce JF-17 fighter jets for Myanmar. According to sources, a contract for at least 11 multi-role fighter jets was inked in 2016.
Following that, between 2019 and 2021, Islamabad provided combat planes to Naypyidaw. However, the junta grounded all of the jets after declaring them "unfit for operations." According to There port, Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation in China and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex collaborated to produce the jets.
But soon after the planes were delivered, the Burmese Air Force was compelled to put them on the ground because of structural issues. China intervened after JF-17 failed, which seems to have heightened tensions between Islamabad and Naypyidaw.
Narinjara News reports that a message from the CCP's highest leadership to Gen. Min Aung Hlaing was delivered during a recent visit by the Chinese envoy to Myanmar in Naypyidaw.
Sources claim that Pakistan is actively attempting to renegotiate the contract for more recent JF-17 models. It is very likely that the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and the Chinese Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation will collaborate to create these new types.
Little information, however, has been made public regarding the military junta leadership's acceptance of the renegotiated agreement. According to knowledgeable sources, the military junta is furious because its plans to increase its air force to launch targeted attacks on Myanmar's resistance groups fighting under the banner of the People's Defence Force (PDF), an armed wing of the NUG, have been largely thwarted by the aircraft's non-utility.
According to Narinjara announcement, Pakistan's attempts to sell comparable aircraft to other nations, particularly Latin American nations, have encountered difficulties in the wake of the announcement of the crisis brought on by the malfunctioning of the JF-17s.
Following this, the military junta declined to enter into any additional negotiations with Pakistan regarding the purchase of aircraft, and other nations have also been unwilling to communicate with Pakistan. Notably, China herself currently does not have a single JF-17 in her inventory.
