Bill To Control Delhi To Clear Rajya Sabha Hurdle. Reason - YSR Congress

The YSR Congress Party, which has nine members in Rajya Sabha and 22 in Lok Sabha, has often supported the government on critical bills.

  With the backing of YSR Congress Party, the government can easily get the Delhi bill passed


New Delhi: With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister JaganMohanReddy's YSRCongress Party opting to support the BJP-led government in parliament on two significant votes, including a no-confidence resolution on Manipur, the Center's bill for the control of services in Delhi is expected to pass both chambers of parliament.

The YSR Congress Party, which has 22 members in the LokSabha and nine in the Rajya Sabha, frequently backs the government on important legislation. 

The government can easily pass the contentious Delhibill through the Rajya Sabha, where it lacks a majority, with the support of YSRCongress Party members.

In order to overturn a Supreme Court ruling that stated the elected government in Delhi, not the Centre, has control over the transfer and appointment of bureaucrats, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment)bill has been introduced. This ordinance for the control of Delhi's bureaucrats was issued by the Centre.

In both cases, we will support the administration, YSRCongress Party leader V Vijaysai Reddy said NDTV.

In the Lok Sabha voting on the Manipur crisis no-confidence motion filed by the opposition, the party's 22 MPs will increase the government's representation. The Lok Sabha Speaker has approved two notices for a no-trust resolution, which is likely to be defeated and is more of a symbolic action by the INDIA coalition of opposition parties to compel Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address Manipur in the House of Representatives. 

The BJP is being accused of attempting to undermine the rule of law while attempting to seize control of officers in the city, according to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is now in power in Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, the head of the AAP and chief minister of Delhi, visited chief ministers and leaders of opposition parties all over the nation in an effort to win their support. 

Despite their fierce antagonism, particularly in Delhi and Punjab, the Congress spoke out in favor of the AAP last week.

Given that the government is in a strong position in RajyaSabha, this doesn't do much to boost AAP's cause.

At 238 members, the Rajya Sabha presently enjoys a majority of 120.

The BJP and its allies have 105 members in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is in power.Five nominated MPs and two independent MPs give the ruling party additional assurance of their support.

With 112 votes in favor, the government falls eight votes shy of the new majority threshold. A total of 105 members oppose the Delhi Ordinance.
