Delhi flood news live: The Yamuna water level touched 208.53 metres at 10 am, breaking a 45-year-old record.

As authorities rushed to lead rescue and relief efforts, the Yamuna reached a record high, flooding several important parts of Delhi, including the Secretariat, which houses the chief minister's office. This disrupted daily life and traffic flow.

The Yamuna water level touched 208.53 metres at 10 am, breaking a 45-year-old record.

People walked through knee-deep waters in low-lying regions to reach safer spots as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the closure of schools near the river and the closing down of water treatment plants.

For the entrance of automobiles into the national capital, curbs were also put in place.

The water level in Yamuna river was recorded at 208.17 metres according to data by Central Water Commission.

 Delhi flood news: Yamuna water level further recedes to 208.20 metres at 5pm

The Yamuna water level has gone down to 208.20 metres at 5 pm, according to the Central Water Commission. 

Delhi floods not due to localized rain but because Yamuna received a lot of water from other states: AAP quotes IMD official

Delhi flood news: Three minors drown in waterlogging at Mukundpur

“Three minor children drowned to death in the waterlogging near Mukundpur in North West district. The bodies have been sent to a hospital. Investigation is underway,” news agency ANI quoted Delhi Police as saying.
