Thane: Today, there was a lot of rain in Maharashtra, especially in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar.

In Thane, several sections were flooded, and water even made it onto the grounds of the railroad station.

Images depict individuals wading through knee-deep water and autorickshaw drivers trudging over the flooded road while pushing their vehicles.

People in the vicinity were using buckets to remove water from their shops after water entered several of them.

The India Meteorological Department has since issued a red alert for Mumbai, Raigadh, and Ratnagiri as well as an orange alert for Thane.

Since the morning, there have been significant downpours throughout Mumbai and its suburbs as well.

According to the daily weather forecast released this morning, the meteorological bureau has anticipated "heavy rain in Mumbai and its suburbs, with the possibility of very heavy rain at isolated places, and the possibility of occasionally strong winds reaching 45-55 km/hr in the next 24 hours."

Although Mumbai's city and suburbs' road traffic was slowed down by the heavy rain, officials stated local train and BEST bus service was still operating normally despite some delays.
