India TV-CNX Opinion Poll : If the Lok Sabha elections were held today, the BJP-led NDA would probably lose its Manipur seat due to criticism for its passivity regarding the continuing violence.Following battles between the Meiteis and Kukis, the north-eastern state has been on fire since May 3.
The demand for a discussion on the Manipur crisis has caused a deadlock in the Monsoon session of Parliament. The government has repeatedly stated that it is prepared for a discussion on the House floor while the opposition has been calling for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a comment on the matter.
The India TV and CNX opinion survey also paints a picture of a public that has lost faith in the BJP. If Lok Sabha elections were held today, the poll predicts that the Congress will win both the inner and outer seats.
The survey predicts that the BJP-led NDA will receive 47% of the vote in Manipur, compared to 32% for the opposition's INDIA coalition and 21% for others. To further split it down, according to the predicted vote percentages, the BJP is predicted to receive 18%, NPF 12%, NPP 17%, Congress 32%, and others 21%.
In contrast to Manipur, Assam has a total of 14 seats, and the BJP is predicted to come out on top there. The BJP is predicted to win 10 seats if elections were held right now.
