Jaishankar will travel to Tanzania today for a four-day visit to have high-level meetings with his counterpart.
During his four-day tour, Jaishankar will meet with Tanzania's top officials and attend a reception on board the Indian Naval Ship Trishul, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Jaishankar's Tanzania visit: Wednesday will see the departure of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for a four-day official trip to Tanzania where he will have high-level meetings and co-chair the 10th Joint Commission Meeting with his counterpart Stergomena Tax. During his visit, Jaishankar will meet with the country's top officials and attend a reception on board the Indian Naval Ship Trishul, according to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). In addition, he will likely inaugurate Swami Vivekananda's bust and address the Indian diaspora.
Jaishankar will spend the first two days of his four-day visit to the nation in Zanzibar, where he will meet with senior government figures, tour a water supply project funded by an Indian government line of credit, and go to a reception on the Indian Naval Ship Trishul, which is currently sailing to Tanzania.

After that, EAM will go to Tanzania's Dar-es-Salaam city from July 7–8, 2023, where he would co-chair the 10th India–Tanzania Joint Commission Meeting with his counterpart and meet with high officials, including many Cabinet rank Ministers, according to an official statement.
"He will meet with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for India during his visit, and he will also launch a commercial meeting between India and Tanzania. In addition, EAM will speak to the Indian diaspora and dedicate Swami Vivekananda's bust in Dar es Salaam, according to the press release.

It should be mentioned that Tanzania and India have long had cordial, amicable, and cooperative ties. On June 28 and 29, Tanzania and India convened their second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting in Arusha. The Ministry of Defence said in a statement that the two parties had addressed boosting security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) during their meeting. The trade and business ties between Tanzania and India remained strong. Tanzania's top trading partner is likewise India.
