New Delhi: To show their objection to the monsoon session being interrupted for a third day, a group of opposition MPs have gathered in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Parliament House.

The recently formed opposition coalition "INDIA" has been pressuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue a thorough statement regarding the ethnic unrest that has been raging in Manipur for more than two months.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress MPs were seen staging a quiet protest at 11 o'clock, holding signs reading "INDIA for Manipur." There, they'll stay the night.

The Congress claimed earlier today that the government's "continued refusal" to accept INDIA's demand for PM Modi to make a "comprehensive statement" in both chambers of parliament over the Manipur crisis was the reason why parliament remained inactive for a third day.

A motion for adjournment had been filed by a number of opposition MPs to debate the situation in Manipur.

Since the monsoon conference began on Thursday, the opposition has been protesting in favor of a discussion in which all parties can speak without being timed out.

The opposition has been accused by the current administration of avoiding a discussion of this crucial topic, and their commitment to it has been called into question. The current government has been charged with doing the same, or avoiding a debate, by the opposition.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, claimed the government is being insensitive."We demand that the PM appear before the house and address the nation.

We are prepared to talk about that assertion.Speaking outside rather than inside is disrespectful to the legislature. It's a big difficulties, he declared.

Days after a video displaying two tribal women being displayed naked in Manipur was shared on social media, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi accused opposition leaders of avoiding a debate and questioned their "silence" on issues of violence against women in other states. The Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said opposition leaders should not offer justifications.

"The PM has already spoken out firmly and sensitively on Manipur before the (monsoon) session. It is incorrect that we never even began the discussion (on the Manipur problem inside parliamentary) by apologising in the the prime minister's name, Mr. Singh stated.
