Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the day, PM Modi arrived in the UAE's Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi:    In Abu Dhabi on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He spoke with the president of the UAE in private. PM Modi traveled to the UAE's Abu Dhabi earlier in the day for a day-long visit after spending two days in France.

After that, the prime minister will eat a lunch feast. On Saturday, PM Modi met with Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, the COP28 president-elect, to offer the Gulf state India's complete support for the COP-28 presidency.




"I appreciate you inviting me, and I always hope to have the opportunity to visit this place. After his discussion with Zayed Al Nahyan, PM Modi declared, "I have made the decision to attend the COP-28 Summit in the UAE.


 PM Modi's statement: 


"Deepening India- UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. PM Narendra Modi was warmly welcomed by UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the iconic Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace. Extensive discussions between the two leaders covering various aspects of bilateral ties lie ahead," tweets MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi

MEA's statement:



At the Abu Dhabi airport, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, gave PM Modi a warm greeting. Modi received a formal welcome upon his arrival for his sixth trip to the UAE, including with a Guard of Honour.

Reached Abu Dhabi by air. The discussions with HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which will further expand India-UAE cooperation, are something I look forward to, PM Modi tweeted.

He expressed gratitude to the crown prince, HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for meeting him at the airport.

After a fruitful two-day trip to Paris, where he participated in the Bastille Day parade alongside French President Emmanuel Macron as the Guest of Honor and signed various agreements to deepen bilateral ties, Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi. 

The UAE's highest civilian accolade, the Order of Zayed, was given to Modi in 2019 as a thank you for his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
