Abhishek Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), announced on Friday that he will hold a protest in Delhi following the conclusion of the panchayat elections in West Bengal. Banerjee declared during a rally in Asansol that he and 10 lakh followers would demonstrate against the failure to pay workers under the 100 days work scheme.
He attacked the Centre for holding onto the money, which he claimed belonged to West Bengal and totaled Rs. 7,700 crores.
"We will bow our heads in front of God, but not Delhi," Abhishek Banerjee said. He went on to ask if paying Rs 1,200 for an LPG cylinder was worthy of the title "acche din."
Furthermore, PM Modi "tried so hard to intimidate me through the CBI and the ED, but he couldn't succeed," according to Abhishek Banerjee.
In addition, he accused the prime minister of protecting dishonest party leaders.
In a public meeting on May 1, the TMC leader attacked the central government for withholding cash from the state. If the people support me, I'll plan a larger movement and travel to Delhi to voice the aspirations of our people, he declared.
In the meantime, the BJP has asserted that corruption is to blame for the cash' withholding.
