"Abolish Nuh District, Give Arms": Demands From Haryana Mahapanchayat

New Delhi: Despite the requirement that there be "no hate speech" for permission to attend a sizable meeting by a Hindu group in Haryana, several speakers made explicit threats today with the police on guard in the Palwal area. According to the organizers, some speakers disregarded warnings not to engage in hate speech. "If you raise a finger, we will cut off your hands," one speaker was heard threatening, while another called for rifle licenses.
A committee of 51 persons who were present at the mahapanchayat determined that the Nuh district should be eliminated and the territory should become cow slaughter-free. The committee demanded that a paramilitary force headquarters be established in Nuh to safeguard security, citing cow smuggling as the primary source of all disputes in the region.
The committee demanded that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conduct an investigation into the violence on July 31 and that families of "their people" who lost loved ones in the riots receive compensation of Rs. 1 lakh each.They also requested that the accused pay them 50 lakh each for individuals who had been hurt and for the losses sustained during the rioting.
The mahapanchayat demanded stringent regulations for visitors from other nations.The committee concluded that they should be discarded.
If someone applies, it was stated that the government should provide weapons to the residents of Nuh and Palwal for self-defense, and that all cases should be moved from Nuh to Gurugram or any other district.

In light of the peace and order crisis, the police said that they had refused permission to Hindu organizations BajrangDal and the VHP to hold the Mahapanchayat. The gathering today reportedly included members of the two groups.
Following the violence, the Hindu Samaj Mahapanchayat organized a meeting in Gurugram where they advocated for a boycott of Muslim vendors despite being denied police clearance. There were also other speeches given in front of the group.
According to sources, the police did not grant authorization for today's meeting because they believed it may increase the already high levels of tension in the neighborhood. Instead, they are working to bring the region back to harmony.
The event's organizers posted posters publicizing the mahapanchayat on numerous social media sites.The poster read, "The yatra is being organized to increase Hindus' self-confidence."
Devender Singh, the division minister for the VHP, stated to PTI on Friday that "all Hindu organisations decided to continue the yatra on August 28 which was attacked on July 31 in Nuh.I wish the yatra would be finished with admiration and passion.
The Gurgaon Police on Friday issued a formal statement asking the people to desist from yelling aggressive slogans, making speeches, carrying banners, or engaging in other conduct that can offend a community or disturb the calm.
"This appeal has not been made for any particular procession. The situation in the district is normal, and our only request was to keep it that way, according to ACP Crime's Varun Dahiya.

A sizable group of Haryana-based khaps, farmer organizations, and religious leaders held a "Mahapanchayat" on Wednesday in Hisar to denounce the violence and pass various resolutions encouraging peace and cooperation in the area.
Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs all participated in the mahapanchayat, which was sponsored by the Bhartiya Kisan Mazdoor Union. The gathering decided that efforts to reestablish peace shall be made by members of all religions.
