Accusations Of Killing Wagner Chief An "Absolute Lie": Russia

Western politicians have suggested that President Putin ordered Prigozhin killed to punish him for his failed mutiny against the top brass in Russia.

Kremlin said the accusation and many others like it were false.

Moscow: Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary company, was allegedly killed on instructions from the Kremlin, according to Western reports, but the Kremlin called these claims a "absolute lie" and refused to confirm his demise until test results were available.

After the mercenary leader's plane crashed on Wednesday evening with no survivors, breaking his quiet after he staged a mutiny against army officials two months prior, President Vladimir Putin offered his sympathies to Yevgeny Prigozhin's family on Thursday.

Yevgeny Prigozhin and his top accomplices in the Wagner mercenary outfit were reportedly executed, according to "preliminary information" given by Vladimir Putin.

Although they have started an investigation, Russian investigators have not yet revealed what they believe caused the plane to fall from the sky abruptly northwest of Moscow.

The identities of the 10 bodies that were found in the debris haven't been formally confirmed either.

According to Western politicians and analysts, President Putin may have ordered the murder of Prigozhin as retaliation for the latter's involvement in the biggest-ever uprising against Vladimir Putin's leadership, which was a failed mutiny against the top brass from June 23 to 34.

The charge and numerous others like it, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, are untrue.

The cause of this jet crash and the terrible deaths of the passengers, including Yevgeny Prigozhin, are currently the subject of a great deal of speculation. Naturally, all of this speculating is presented in the West from a well-known perspective," Mr. Peskov told reporters.

"This is all a complete lie, and while reporting on this subject, it is important to be factual. Not many facts are available yet. They must be verified during the course of the investigation.

According to Dmitry Peskov, it's crucial to wait for the outcomes of numerous tests and the probe's findings.

He claimed Yevgeny Prigozhin and Vladimir Putin had not lately interacted.
