Is Rahul Gandhi suggesting Army firing on civilians in Manipur: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Rahul Gandhi said the ‘nonsense’ in Manipur can be controlled by the Indian Army in two days. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma countered.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said a solution has to come from the hearts.
Rahul Gandhi's prescription for peace in the troubled northeastern state of Manipur, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday, is incorrect. According to Himanta, hearts, not guns, should be used to resolve the Manipur crisis.
In Aizawl, Indian Air Force carried out the same action. After the blast, there was a decrease in violence. Rahul Gandhi said today that the Indian Army should put an end to the unrest in Manipur. What does that imply? Should they start shooting at civilians? said Himanta.
Has he prescribed this? How is that even possible? Nothing can be resolved by the army. They will only be able to calm things down temporarily and bring about peace, according to Himanta.
"They insisted that PM Modi address Manipur. However, when PM Modi began to speak, they left. They made it clear that Manipur was not part of their plan or objective. They just intended to interfere with Parliament. Prime Minister Modi spoke from the heart. He talked on the northeast and Manipur. We are overjoyed, Assam CM added.
On Friday, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Indian Army could end the 'nonsense' in Manipur in two days but that they are not currently being used. Rahul Gandhi clarified that he is not asking the army to intervene, only that PM Modi and the Central government have many tools at their disposal to control the situation in Manipur, but they are not being used because PM Modi does not want the situation in Manipur to improve for a variety of reasons.

'Manipur is now two states, never saw something like this'
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Meiteis and Kukis have split Manipur to the point where no Kukis are permitted in Meitei districts, not even in the security squad. We were explicitly informed that any Kuki members on our security crew would be shot when we visited a Meitei neighborhood. And the same thing is happening in the Kuki region. In my 19 years in politics, I have never witnessed a situation like this elsewhere in the nation, Rahul Gandhi stated.
'Army won't take three days...'
"There are reasons why PM Modi hasn't visited Manipur that I am unable to disclose. The Indian Army can take control of the situation in two days if they are called to. In the Indian Army, I have complete faith. Even three days won't be necessary. Modi wants Manipur to burn, nevertheless. This is Manipur's reality, according to Rahul Gandhi.
