Russia Says It Destroyed Another Ukraine Boat in Black Sea, 2nd Such Attack

Moscow claims to have thwarted a string of Ukrainian marine drone attacks on its warships, including last Thursday evening, when it said a drone attacked its Black Sea Fleet.

Moscow: The second boat that Russia claimed to have attacked in the last few hours was a Ukrainian military boat that was destroyed by its forces on Tuesday in the Black Sea.

According to Moscow's defense ministry, a Russian army aircraft shot down a US-built Willard Sea Force speedboat carrying a Ukrainian landing force on August 22 at approximately 11:00 Moscow time (0800 GMT) east of Snake Island.

Following the failure of a deal last month to assure safe navigation for grain ships in the Black Sea, both Ukraine and Russia have increased activities in the region.

Moscow asserts that it has prevented a number of drone attacks by Ukrainian marines on its warships, including one that it alleges occurred last Thursday night when a drone allegedly targeted its Black Sea Fleet.
