Putin praises his "big friend" Modi and declares his desire to "emulate" the Make in India campaign.

The Make in India initiative was introduced by Prime Minister Modi in 2014 with the goal of fostering domestic product development, production, and assembly by businesses as well as encouraging targeted investments in the manufacturing sector.

MoscowVladimir Putin, the president of Russia, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and referred to him as a "big friend" of his country. Putin praised Prime Minister Modi's "Make in India" campaign and claimed that it had a "truly impressive effect" on the economy of the nation.

Vladimir Putin attempted to indicate that he would follow the "Make in India campaign" while speaking at a forum on Thursday in Moscow held by Russia's Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

The "Make in India" project was introduced several years ago by our friends in India and our great buddy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The impact it has had on the Indian economy is absolutely amazing. Even if our friends rather than ourselves came up with the idea, it wouldn't hurt to copy it, the Russian President was cited as saying by Russia's RT New.

The "Make in India" initiative, introduced by Prime Minister Modi in 2014, sought to inspire businesses to design, produce, and assemble goods in India as well as to attract targeted investments in the sector.

The Russian President's commendation comes a day after India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said it would be "mistake" to downplay the significance of the country's long-standing relationship with.

"Despite the turmoil in the world, our relationship with Russia has remained stable. It is truly a very special connection for us and, I believe, in some respects, for the Russians as well. Despite all the demands on us at the time, I believe we determined the significance of our connection for ourselves.

This connection is sometimes reduced to simple statements such, "Oh, we are dependent on them for arms." I believe it to be much more complicated, Jaishankar told ANI.
