The alliance of opposition parties that convened in Bengaluru will now be known as the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India), according to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's announcement on Tuesday. A secretariat will also be established in Delhi for the supervision of the election campaign.
The next gathering of the opposition parties will take place in Mumbai, according to Kharge. The names of the 11 members of the coordination committee, which the Congress chairman also revealed, would be discussed at the meeting in Mumbai.
"We'll form an 11-person coordinating committee. We shall discuss the members of the coordination committee's names at our upcoming meeting in Mumbai. After the meeting in Bengaluru, Kharge stated at the joint press conference that the date would be revealed shortly.
Harge made fun of the meeting of the 38 members of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying that several of the parties' names had not even been mentioned.
With 30 parties present, NDA is holding a meeting. I was unaware that India has so many parties.PM Modi is now terrified of opposition parties; previously, they didn't hold any meetings, but now they are having them one by one (with NDA parties). We have assembled here to protect the Constitution and democracy, Kharge remarked.
Rahul Gandhi, a senior member of the Congress, claimed that the discussion was fruitful and emphasized that the battle is against the BJP's philosophy.
"We are upholding the ideals of our magnificent nation, India.Gandhi remarked that history shows that no one has been able to overthrow the notion of India.
"The BJP and the opposition are not at odds in this conflict. This battle is for the freedom of the nation's speech. Because of this, we chose the name Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, which is short for India, he said.
The opposition parties claimed in a joint statement that the Constitution's fundamental tenants are being "methodically and menacingly undermined." They voiced extreme concern on the violence in Manipur, stating that the "silence of the Prime Minister is shocking and unprecedented."
The declaration stated that Manipur needed to return to the path of peace and reconciliation immediately.
A caste census was another proposal made by the 26 opposition parties.
Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP's IT cell, responded to the alliance's name by saying that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had come to be "synonymous with corruption and regressive politics" and that the change in name wouldn't increase the credibility of the coalition's reorganization.
"The nation will pick Prime Minister Modi as its head of state in 2024... The future of our nation is too important to risk with one of the dynastic, corrupt, and self-serving parties. He wrote in a tweet, "It is clear that they have banded together to protect their dwindling turfs, not serve the people (sic)".
