Several areas including ITO got waterlogged causing traffic snarls and hinderance in traffic movement in the national capital.

Monsoon rain lashes several parts of Delhi

On Friday, the national capital was hit by monsoon rain in several locations. The images demonstrated how the downpour provided significant relief from the heat in many regions of the city. As a result, there were traffic snarls and obstructions to traffic flow in various regions, including ITO. On Friday, there were also a few light raindrops in the Non-Capital Region (NCR). 

The national capital was expected to experience heavy to moderate rainfall earlier in the day, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Rain fell in Civil Lines, Laxmi Nagar, and Lajpat Nagar, and gloomy skies were seen in Jasola and Okhla in the national capital.





Around 8:30 am on Friday, the relative humidity was 85%. According to the IMD, the national capital's high is predicted to be 35 degrees Celsius.

Yamuna water level still above danger mark

After exhibiting a pattern of retreat over the previous few days, the Yamuna River in Delhi was flowing beyond the danger threshold of 205.33 meters.The Central Water Commission reports that since reaching an all-time high of 208.66 meters on July 13, the water level at the Old Railway Bridge has been hanging close to the danger mark. 

Following significant rainfall in some areas of the national capital, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, it crossed the threshold once more. The Old Railway Bridge's water level was 205.99 meters at 9 p.m., and the Central Water Commission predicts it will rise to 205.65 meters by Thursday evening.
