The Sharad Pawar camp reached out to the public on an emotional level at a rally on Saturday in Nashik despite the nonstop rain. On June 30, two days before taking the oath of office as the deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar declared his selection as the NCP's president. At the party's national executive conference in New Delhi, Sharad Pawar disputed Ajit Pawar's assertions and declared that all dissidents will be expelled from the organization.
