Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, declared on Saturday that the addition of Ajit Pawar as deputy chief minister to the Eknath Shinde-led administration has transformed the government into a "trishul" (trident) of development that will eradicate poverty and backwardness from the state.

Fadnavis was speaking at a "Shasan Aaplya Dari" event in the state's Gadchiroli district.
"CM Eknath Shinde and I have been cooperating for the past year. But now that Ajit Pawar is a part of the government, a "trishul" of development has been built, which would eradicate poverty and backwardness from the state, Fadnavis remarked.
He continued, "This "trishul" is like Lord Shiva's third eye, which would burn to ashes anyone working against the common man.
Last week, Ajit Pawar took an oath to serve as the deputy chief minister, and eight MLAs from his Nationalist Congress Party were appointed as ministers in Shinde's Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition.
Fadnavis spoke of the "Shasan Aaplya Dari" (government at your doorstep) initiative, noting that it was founded with the intention of bringing government programs to the homes of ordinary citizens.
According to him, 6.70 lakh people from rural Gadchiroli have benefited from various government programs by receiving caste certificates, tractors, cycles, godowns, and other things.
Speaking about the numerous government development projects, he stated that the steel sector in Gadchiroli is receiving investments of nearly Rs 20,000 crore.
He stated that the state government was aiming to transform Gadchiroli into a steel city, which would offer several employment possibilities to the locals.
He claimed that many large industrial companies are making investments in Gadchiroli.
According to the deputy chief minister, the administration is changing Gadchiroli without affecting its culture, tradition, or forest resources.
"We are aiming to build Gadchiroli in such a way that there will be no backwardness and unemployment anywhere by working with everyone and keeping the environment in mind. All of the district's youth, whether they are OBCs or tribal, will find work, according to Fadnavis.
According to him, the government has designated 146 acres of land in Gadchiroli for an airport and has submitted a request for its approval to the Airports Authority of India.
"The work of laying railway lines is also underway in Gadchiroli," he added, noting that it will change from an aspirational district to a progressive district.
