13 NDRF teams on standby :
13 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are placed on standby in various districts throughout Maharashtra as a result of the state's recent heavy rainfall and flooding. Today (July 27), various parts of Mumbai City experienced waterlogging due to the heavy rainfall.
Mumbai has already accumulated more than 90% of the season's average rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department, as of Thursday. The amount of rainfall during the monsoon season in Mumbai is 2300 mm on average, and 2128 mm have already fallen. The figure represents 92.5% of Mumbai's yearly average rainfall.

Mumbai schools shut:
In Mumbai's metropolis and surrounding areas, all schools and colleges were closed on Thursday as torrential rain lashed the region. The municipal corporation's directive would be applicable to all public and private elementary, secondary, and upper secondary schools as well as all colleges.
Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated, "BMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Iqbal Singh Chahal has declared a holiday for tomorrow, July 27, for all municipal, government and private primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools as well as all colleges in Mumbai city and suburbs due to the heavy rainfall."
Mumbai saw moderate to heavy rainfall from July 25–26, according to information released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday. From 8:30 AM on July 25 to 8:30 AM on July 26, Mumbai saw moderate to heavy rainfall, according to the weather service.

From 0830 IST on July 25 to 0830 IST on July 26, Mumbai had moderate to heavy rains. Rainfall in millimeters in Santacruz (86.1), Colaba (44.6), Bandra (58.0), Dahisar (112.0), Ram Mandir (87.5), Chembur (32.5), Byculla (16.0), CSMT (44.0), Matunga (21.0), and Sion (51.0), according to a tweet from the IMD.
According to representatives of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), "out of the 7 lakes that supply water to Mumbai, the Tansa Lake started overflowing today at 4:35 AM."
