'NCP symbol not going anywhere': Sharad Pawar after Ajit Pawar moves poll panel

Party leader Sharad Pawar stated on Wednesday that he will "not allow anyone to snatch it away" after Ajit Pawar presented over 40 affidavits of MLAs and MPs in favor of his request to the Election Commission for the Nationalist Congress Party's (NCP) name and emblem.

The seasoned politician told the party members gathered at the Yashwantrao Chavan Center in Mumbai, "There is no reason to be alarmed. The party's emblem is still present and will remain thus. We have the supporters and party members who helped us win the election.

The Sharad Pawar group filed a caveat with the poll panel in reaction to the Ajit Pawar faction's action, asking it to first hear their side before making any decisions about the factional conflict.


The EC has in the meantime requested that the two groups exchange the relevant documents that they have presented to it. The application will reportedly be processed by the poll administration in a few days.
