"No-Confidence Motion Accepted, Now...": Asaduddin Owaisi To Opposition
Asaduddin Owaisi also highlighted the issue of significant bills being passed amidst the chaos, potentially without thorough scrutiny.
Asaduddin Owaisi lamented the loss of parliament's question hour.
New Delhi: On Thursday, Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the AIMIM party, spoke about the continuous demonstrations and disturbances in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and urged a restoration of order. His comments were made when both chambers of Congress were adjourned because to a standoff over the three-month-long unrest in Manipur between the government and the opposition.
According to me, the opposition should let the parliament run its business, Mr. Owaisi said to NDTV. He argued that after the opposition's no-confidence vote against the government was accepted the previous day, there should be a return to order.
He questioned the strategy of the opposition, saying, "It's a fair point that now that the motion of no-confidence has been approved, the house should be allowed to work. This question should be answered by the opposition parties.
The lawmaker lamented the fact that the persistent protests had taken up valuable legislative time. "It is regrettable that we have lost so many session days. We must confront the government directly and bring out its shortcomings, he bemoaned. It's sad that we are missing the question hour, he said, emphasizing its significance.
Mr. Owaisi also brought up the issue of important measures potentially passing without careful review because of the confusion. Important bills have been passed in the clamor, and we haven't been able to point out their shortcomings, the speaker claimed.
The leader of AIMIM also criticized the government's attempt to contrast Manipur's ethnic clashes with the bloodshed in Rajasthan and West Bengal. "The government is attempting to excuse violence by bringing up the violence in Rajasthan and West Bengal. The cabinet minister should not have compared the Kukis' pogrom to events in other states, he said.
On Thursday, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were recessed until 2 p.m. due to disturbances caused by opposition members' demands regarding the Manipur issue. The Speaker adjourned the meeting as opposition members, many of whom were dressed in black, persisted in their demonstrations regarding the Manipur issue.
The Speaker of the House, who was obviously irritated, reminded the members of the House's etiquette and noted that they had been chosen to discuss the issues of the people. Since the Monsoon Session began last Thursday, there have been numerous adjournments, but the opposition has persisted in pressing for a thorough discussion on Manipur and a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
