Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra announced the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration by the SCO members on Tuesday following the virtual summit held by India. In two thematic joint declarations, one on collaboration in preventing radicalization that leads to separatism, extremism, and terrorism, and the other on cooperation in the area of digital transformation, according to Kwatra, the countries and regions of the world.

What is the New Delhi Declaration ??

The New Delhi Declaration, which the Indian government offered at the SCO Summit in an effort to combat terrorism, was created by them.

The Declaration also includes four more collaborative statements on deradicalization, millets production, sustainable lifestyles to combat climate change, and digital transformation.
In his speech at the SCO Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of counterterrorism and backed the New Delhi Declaration. "Russia welcomes the New Delhi declaration, which offers a comprehensive strategy to global concerns. We'll keep fortifying our ties with SCO members, he declared.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated during his virtual address that "some countries use cross-border terrorism and give safe haven to terrorists" without identifying any specific nation. He also encouraged the SCO countries to denounce it.

Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan issued a warning against using terrorism as a "bat for diplomatic point-swearing" and described it as a "hydra-headed monster" that must be battled with "full conviction" no matter where it originates.
