Samandar Patel, a senior in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a supporter of Jyotiraditya Scindia, joined the Congress on Friday in the presence of PCC chairman Kamal Nath ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly election. According to sources, Patel joined Congress at the PCC office in Bhopal alongside his followers.

Party sources claim that Patel drove an army of over 800 followers from his hometown of Jawad in Neemuch to the party headquarters in Bhopal in a convoy of over 800 automobiles.

What Kamal Nath said on Patel's joining Congress?

"Patel has joined the Congress party unconditionally, adhering to the party's beliefs, ideology, and customs. He came here because of his truth, and I have complete confidence that he will share it with the residents of his community, PCC chief Kamal Nath said.

"The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP administration was built with the money power through horse trading in 2018, whereas the Congress government in 2018 was formed with the opinion of the masses. The BJP has been in power for 18 years, but corruption and fraud are everywhere, painting a clear picture of the state, according to Nath.

Scindia loyalists joined Congress earlier too

Patel, meanwhile, expressed his happiness at returning to the Congress Party. Notably, Scindia supporters had previously joined the Congress party. Former Shivpuri district Congress President Baijnath Singh Yadav, who was collaborating with Scindia in the Kolaras region of the district, recently re-joined the party.
