"Nothing Will Give India More Happiness Than...": Ajit Doval On Ukraine

The two-day conference, hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, is being attended by top security officials of around 40 countries.

Ajit Doval said India has regularly engaged with both Russia and Ukraine

New Delhi: Last night, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended a conference in Saudi Arabia with his international counterparts to discuss how to find a "peaceful resolution" to the war in Ukraine.

In Jeddah, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is hosting a two-day meeting that is attended by senior security officials from about 40 different countries.

According to sources, Russia was not invited to the conference.

Since the start of the conflict, India has maintained regular contact with both Russia and Ukraine, according to Mr. Doval, and it will continue to be a "active and willing partner" in the search for an all-encompassing end to the crisis.

Nothing, according to Mr. Doval, "will bring India more happiness and satisfaction than such a result."

India has long encouraged discussion and diplomacy as its strategy.According to him, this is the only path toward peace.

According to Mr. Doval, both Russia and Ukraine should be able to accept the solution.

The conference must address two challenges at once: how to resolve the issue and how to mitigate its effects. Much more preparation is required to ensure this, and efforts must be focused on both fronts at once, he said.

On the fringes of the G7 summit in Japan earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Ukraine.

Zelensky was informed by PM Modi that India will make every effort to resolve the problem.
