Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that his country is "working closely with the Indian government to tackle the Khalistani issue" after arriving in Delhi on Friday to attend the historic G20 Summit. In the UK, violent Khalistani fanaticism of any type would not be tolerated, according to Sunak.

As a result of the attack on the Indian High Commission in London on March 19, there have been growing concerns in India regarding the actions of pro-Khalistan individuals in the UK. Indian Americans have harshly condemned the incident and asked that those guilty be brought to justice right away.

“…We are working very closely with the Indian government to particularly tackle 'PKE' Pro-Khalistan Extremism. I don't think it's right. Our security Minister recently was just in India talking to his counterparts. We have working groups together to share intelligence and information so that we can root out this kind of violent extremism,” Sunak said while speaking to news agency ANI.

India had sent a strong protest to the UK in the meanwhile. In addition, the Delhi Police filed a first information report (FIR) regarding a crime that had been committed abroad; the National Investigation Agency (NIA) later took over the investigation.

The UK Prime Minister and his wife Akshata Murthy arrived in India for the G20 Leaders' Summit, which will take place in New Delhi over the next two days.Sunak announced after his arrival that he will collaborate with international leaders to tackle some of the issues that affect all of us.

I arrived in Delhi in time for the G20 conference.I'm meeting with international leaders to discuss some issues that affect all of us.We can only complete the task as a team, Sunak wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
